A woman charged with stalking Kate McCann reportedly deposited her a voicemail message which posed: "what if I am Madeleine?"

Julia Wandelt, twenty-four, who court testimony revealed has repeatedly declared she was the missing Madeleine McCann, and her co-defendant are standing trial indicted with stalking Kate and Gerry McCann between June 2022 and February the current year.

On Monday, Leicester Crown Court heard phone records and information retrieved from phones logged Ms Wandelt repeatedly demanding Madeleine's mother for a genetic test over that period.

Madeleine's disappearance in 2007 - as a three-year-old during a vacation in Portugal - is one of the most publicized child disappearance cases and is still unresolved.

'I Do Not Need Money'

One phone message, presented in court, recorded Ms Wandelt stating: "I know I'm heavy and unattractive like Madeleine had been, but I know what I know."

While a separate message of Ms Wandelt's recordings with Mrs McCann's recording said: "What if there is a small chance that I'm her? What happens next? Isn't that important for you?"

"I don't want money, I have a living here in Poland, I just want to discover," she added.

The tribunal was informed that by means of electronic messages, SMS messages and calls, Ms Wandelt demanded a DNA test, sent childhood photos to her phone in a effort to display a resemblance to Mrs McCann's disappeared daughter, and stated to have "memories" from a childhood with the McCanns.

Robert Jones, an investigator with law enforcement who gathered the data, informed the court there "showed no any replies" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt additionally communicated with family friends of the McCanns, as per the phone records.

On October 9th, 2024, Gerry McCann picked up a phone call from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, stating she had "a wrong number."

That day Ms Wandelt deposited a recording on Mrs McCann's answerphone saying "I will continue and I plan to establish my point."

The court learned Mrs Spragg established a relationship via internet with Ms Wandelt preceding assisting her on a trip to the McCanns' residence in that area in last December.

Call logs showed Mrs Spragg had reached out using communication app to Mrs McCann to express the press had characterized Ms Wandelt as "emotionally disturbed" but that she should be considered genuine in the period leading up to the visit to the village, that area, in that winter.

The court heard correspondence between the two accused, in November 2024, planning trying to get Mrs McCann's biological evidence from her trash or from cutlery at a dining venue.

"We have to make a stand," Mrs Spragg advised Ms Wandelt.

On the evening of the appearance to their house, the defendant dispatched a message which said: "We find ourselves positioned adjacent to the McCanns' residence with our headlights off similar to detectives. I desired to do this with someone else I hadn't anticipated I would be doing that with the McCanns."
